Shade Tent/Cabana

I'm looking for a tent that will provide shade and light wind protection :tent: . Its for my girlfriend and friends while I surf. I was thinking of an EZ up but those things are bulky and heavy. We go to some beaches that requires a hike in.

So I found these:

$85. No windows

$80. Has windows. looks roomy. But don't know about long term durability.

I have several Kelty shelters, but not this one. They are well made.

I have:
- sun shade, 3 leg self standing shelter that fits over a picnic table. Study but a bit heavy (fiberglass poles)
- carport, arched leanto that rests on car roof rack. Aluminum poles
- Noah tarp, 4 point wing tarp

There is (or was) as small version of the sun shade that had 2 side panels that gave wind protection on the beach. This would be a bit bigger than the one shown.

I was just looking at the large cabana and it has side windows:

It also has a roof which extend out ward providing more shade than the half dome shape tents.

There are several features of that cabana that remind me of their 'carport'. For example the window coverings, which probably are sewn on the bottom, and with ties on the top, and mesh on the outside. Parts of the pole setup look similar as well.

Assembly instructions might be available on the Kelty website. Carport ones were.

One problem with the Carport was that the center panel was too horizontal, and did not shed water well. I solved that by introducing a front to back tilt when attaching to the roof rack. The deluxe version adds outboard poles. These are details that probably don't apply to the cabana, but are indicative of both the unexpected problems and flexibility that comes with structures like this.
