I have found little about them searching. Are they worth looking at? I am looking at a 1989. So far that is all I know about it. Any info would be nice. Anything special to look for with this brand?

Thank you.

No Idea. Probably similar construction to skampers, palominos, jaycos, etc of that era. If you are looking at that old of a camper you are most likely on a tight budget as I was. Main thing to look for in the old campers is water damage and the canvas condtion. Sometimes you find an old gem that will work fine for you with some TLC. Plenty of us have done that.

Personally I have owned a 1989 Skamper which I brought back to life tinkering on in for the 3 years I owned it. It was one of the best $700 investments I've made. I took it all over and back and had some great trips and memories.

I then "traded" it in for a 1990 FWC Hawk for only 2 reasons, It fit my truck and had a bigger bed. I have since "restored" that one as well.

So to answer your question (is it worth looking at) you need to figure out what you want. If you are just looking to try the pop-up style camping out and the camper is in good condition, go for it. If you are looking for a camper to last you for a long time, save $$ and buy a newer camper which the company is still in business. Hope that helps. GOOD LUCK!

Thanks. I do have a fairly good idea of what I want and you are right I do have a tight budget. I want to get a pop up as they are lighter, lower profile, and mostly for the wife as she wants something easier to handle caring for the little ones in.

If it is in decent condition and most everything works, go for it. Clean it up, re-seal the exterior and get out and have fun! Then down the road if you really like the truck camper, you can save for something better. I personally would go for it and start making trips/memories than waiting years for something "perfect."

Post some picts of your new setup if you get it!

What he said. I'm 99% confident they were all wood so water damage is what to look for and the 'canvas' is about the most expensive thing to replace. I worked/camped with a gentleman who had a 90's era Shadow Cruiser that fit a Ford Ranger. It was a good camper. He used it lots supporting his thunder egg and sunstone digging hobby. I know the only reason he traded out of it was his retirement allowed him more time for longer trips so he went with a bigger truck/camper combo.

IF it is still sound, with working appliances, fits your vehicle and priced right then time to get it and get camping!
I wish you well with your decision....

Went and looked at it with the top popped up and the canvas and windows were not in very good shape. Lots of rips and tears, the screens were cut out and half cut out of every torn window. Which was all of them.
