Side or rear owning on a defender 110

Hi Folks

I'm looking to buy an awning for my 110, but unsure which one I should buy and get the most use out of? I'm based in the UK and it would be used only in the UK. The rear would be good for brewing a cup of tea and working out the back door, but a side would be good for sitting under and room for a few people. Has anyone bought either one and wished they had bought the other?

Buy or fabricate an arm that allows you to swing the awning from the side to the back for dual usage. Similar to this:

Why not a 270* awning that covers both the side and rear of your 110?

Side awning with a RTT folding open over the rear... Done!

But seriously, I'd go rear opening first unless you have plans for a future RTT. I'm in and out of the back of my land cruisers a lot while camping and wheeling, and it being covered is a big plus if you have rain or snow. Add a tarp to whichever of the three sides is getting the wind/weather and your time would be more enjoyable.
