SIDI USA not operating...same for Moto?

Word from my lbs is that SIDI USA has no current distributor for bike shoes. I am not sure if it is the same distributor for their moto stuff but if this is true this is seriously bad news.
Only available parts and new shoes are what is currently distributed and in stock.
I have three pairs of sidis in rotation the oldest being 10+ years old...and I was hoping to snag some motox boots soon.
Anyone here have any more info?

Uh, what? I was just on the horn with Sidi yesterday. Seemed like business as usual. My buddy Doug has been a Sidi rep for close to 15 years and he didn't say anything to that effect last week when we reviewed the line. For the record, Sidi moto boots are distributed by Motonation in Cali. They distribute Vemar helmets and AGV Sport apparel. Sidi cycling shoes are sold direct through Sidi USA. They are not sold through any other distributors, just Sidi USA, the direct importer. For probably 20 years they were distributed by Veltec Boyer. Veltec Boyer (Veltec Sports) used to distribute Sidi, Look and several other high end brands. Sidi went direct through Sidi USA several years ago, maybe six or seven years ago. Veltec finally went under in 2011.

Bill, the head guy at Motonation is a super guy and does a great job representing the Sidi Boot and glove lines.

That would be crazy talk if its true. I have a pair of ADV Moto boots and a pair of cycling shoes.
Couldn't imagine either sport without Sidi.

By the way, I just ordered a pair of 2013 Drako mountain bike shoes. They are not in stock now, but will be in the US at Sidi USA on the 23rd, so new shoes are in fact still coming in and being distributed.

Sounds like more LBS "expert information."

Doug Ritter is the SW rep for Felt and Sidi. Just talked to him last week. He was a Veltec rep prior to Sidi going direct. He's been with that brand forever. If this news were even remotely true, he would have said something to me when we looked at the Sidi line just last week.

Who's is your LBS? Sounds like a really ridiculous thing for them to say. Especially not being true.
