Howdy all,

Well I have been doing a bunch of searching on Google and other Dodge forums but haven't found an answer. Does anyone know of a company making skid plates for '94-'02 Dodge Ram 2500's? With having a extended cab, long bed, my breakover angle is limited so I figued some good underbelly protection will go a long way. I can fab up what I need if I have to but if someone already makes it, it might be a better way to go.

Thanks!

Mike, no answer for you, but I'm in the market for similar armor for my Astro.

I have plans drawn up from someone who used to make 'em, but I need to find someone who can do the (hefty) bends in San Diego. If you end up locating a shop who'll tackle the work, let me know, I'll send 'em another couple of small jobs!

I have not found the skid plates anywhere either. If there is a source, I would also like to know. On newer trucks I read the Power Wagon plates can fit the standrad trucks, but I don't think that works for our 2nd generations.

Regcabguy had Aluminess in Santee do one for under the front bumper of his 3rd Gen. They're obviously capable, but I'm not sure what the cost would be with R&D and all. As you're discovering, the market for mods is more 3rd Gen oriented now.

Really all you need is some 1/4" aluminum plate starting from the just before the front od the transfer case to just before the end of the trans. Do it in 2 pieces and put a bunch of holes in it so it drains out mud and such, just bolt it right to the frame. Very straight forward. I believe you guys have industrial metal supply in san diego, they have big breaks to do bends.
