Slight ratchet noise from pass side front end when turning right.

I have a mystery noise that I cannot replicate 100% of the time. When I start pulling away from an intersection making a right hand turn from 0-5mph (est) I hear a very slight ratchet noise. I have done the figure 8 test from steering lock to steering lock and no noise. I think my pass side sway bar drop mount joint may be blown too but I cant figure how that would make the ratchet noise. When ever I try to replicate it I get nothing. I only get it when I am not paying attention. I just did a 800 mile road trip and everything felt fine. Hubs were not hot after a long stint. I do have a pretty bad inner axle seal leak on that side though. Any thoughts on this?

Since you already have a seal in need of repair, why not just start the tear down process to service the front axle and see if you find anything noticeable. My guess would be a worn birfield or drive flange plate.

And I'd recommend Mike at Metric Offroad here in GJ for the repairs if you don't want to do it yourself. I'm pretty sure i've seen your 80 around town, looks nice!

What's the word on light exploring and dirt roads with a birf that's clicking?
