Slim Wheel Spacers on Tacoma?

Have an 04 DC I'm lifting. OME 882s. It looks like with 285/75s on stock wheels, I'm going to have somewhere around 1/4" clearance at most, between the a-arm/top of the spindle and the tire. Not sure if an alignment will end up helping or hurting it LOL.

Seems like a 1/8 to 1/4 spacer would be adequate to give me just a little "breathing room". However, my understanding is I should be using hub-centric spacers which I assume the thin cheap ones aren't? I suppose I could go with Spydertrax, etc, but I don't really want to go very wide else I know I'll be trimming a lot of plastic and body metal :D

Any suggestions?

And the more I look at it, my camber seems such that the tops are out just a bit. So I assume that an alignment will make the situation worse.

285/75'S on the stock wheels SHOULD clear, I think.

If there is ANY clearance, you're fine. On an IFS truck, when your suspension travels, it just moves straight up and down. So as long as the tires clear the Upper Control Arms, they should never actually touch it.

I would avoid running wheel spacers on an IFS rig, as it will put more strain on the wheel bearings. But if you think you need to, and you only want 1/4" you're probably going to have to go with the cheap generic little ones. Most good hub centric wheel spacers start at 1" or 1.25".

That makes sense. Yeah, I seem to have about 3/16-1/4". At worst case 1/8.

I understand that with 285/75s I'm going to be trimming some plastic. I assume that with 1.25" spacers I'll be doing a lot of trimming? It would be interesting to see if someone's got a similar setup with the 1.25" spacers and how much rub they had.

Spidertrax are 1.25" and hub-centric. You can use 1/4" regular spacers and use cone shaped wheel nuts to make your setup lug-centric, but this in case you run aftermarket wheels. With stock rims you can't use lug-centric mode.
