Snythetic Rope

I have it. It's cheap and it works. It's rated at 12k, with a winch of only 10k. I can't complain. Abrasion guards can be purchased from places such as MasterPull for fairly cheap.

For an abrasion guard I buy a length of 1" tubular webbing from a climbing shop, slide it over the winch line and your set. All for about $3

Another source is any shop that makes up and sells Hydraulic hoses, they carry woven nylon abrasion tubing, it probably costs more then the climbing gear but it is really durable stuff
