So Cal. LR club trip coming up

I'm not sure of the rule on posting non-affiliated club trips on the Portal, so I sincerly apologize if this is inappropriate:

I wanted to invite any Land Rover owners to come on the SCLR trip we are having Jan 12th and 13th in the Sierra Madres area (Twin Rocks trail, etc). The first day will consist of two easy, scenic, and longish (I think about 35-40 miles total off-road) trails with the second day being a bit harder but shorter. There will be a couple 5 rated trails (out of 10) and a 6/7 to start the day Sunday. Any of the trails are fairl easy to by-pass and rejoin the group afterward, so don't be put off if the ratings are too much/too little to hold your interest. I'm leading the trip and I've never even seen photos of these trails, so please don't have really high expectations of quality or ability. If you aren't a member of the Southern California Land Rover Club you are 100% welcome to come anyway to check us out. Its a great group with a lot of great people involved. Just let me know if you want to attend and I'll send you a link to more specific information.

Tyler,

Sounds like fun, wish I could make it.

Hey Tyler, it's totally cool to post SCLR trips here, but I'd ask that you please keep in mind a couple of things:

  • All non SCLR members need to RSVP through the SCLR.org website as a "Prospective Member", which allows them to sign a participation waiver and helps you as trail leader to keep track of sign-ups.
  • If a trip starts to fill up, please allow room for SCLR members as needed.
  • Trip Leaders have the discretion to allow non-Rovers to the trip, but we prefer to keep the potential competitiveness amoung brands to a minimum (although that can be very hard sometimes :)

Thanks!

Will you be going slow enough for series rovers? The first and last time I went for a ride with SCLR, every disco and rangie was scooting along at 70+ from the meeting point up to the trail. I quickly fell out but had a chance to meet another series owner on the way home.

Oh yeah

You can be assured that we will not be going too fast for a Series. I don't see the point of running a trail so quickly that you don't get a good look at the land you are passing through. It'd be great to have a Series with us.
