Soft spot near roof vent

Hello all! This past weekend my wife noticed a soft spot along and around a small area of the roof seam near the edge of our roof vent. We pulled the bottom of the vent off when we got home and there was moisture all along that same edge. I am assuming water got in from the seal around the vent so I am planning to reseal it and the rest of the roof seems. My question is about the soft spot, can I get a way with making sure it all dry outs and then resealing everything to keep water out? Or do I need to get the wood replaced? Thank you all!

What exactly was soft? What kind of camper? Seal all your roof seams with Eternabond tape. Expensive but well worth it.

Hello, I had a similar experience on my travel trailer , last summer. I pulled the roof vent out, completely, and dried the roof vent opening with a household electric fan. I, then, sprayed Concrobium Mold Control (made by Rustoleum company) that I got at Home Depot. After that , I re-installed the roof vent and sealed it up with Dicor Self-Leveling sealer. It doesn't leak and I don't walk on that part of the roof anymore.

Not sure what roof you have but I would never walk on most pop up camper roofs. They're just thin aluminum sheet, 1" styrofoam and 1/8" luan plywood. No structural components whatsoever apart from 3 or 4" around the rim.
