Solar trickle chargers

I don't drive my pick up often enough to keep it happy, so I'm thinking solar charger. I live is (usually sunny) CA, so if it works for anyone, it should work for us.

Poking at the Northern Tool web site, I can't really see a reason to favor any particular unit. So, who has one that they love? I guess water proof could be nice so I can leave it in the bed of the truck.

I have had good luck with the SolarPulse (Solargizer) from PulseTech. It desulfates as well as maintains the battery. A bit pricey but it works.

I bought a 2 pack at costco - $29.99 I think, item # 317641.... but I can't fund the receipt, so can't say for sure if that Item# is costco's number or what.

At any rate, it's this one:

Thanks all.

As far as desulfating, I thought that was only needed if a battery was showing its age and signs of abuse (excess discharge state). If I keep it topped off, should I really need that?

Have a look at the pusletech page. While keeping in mind what they sell, what they have to say (or used to anyway) about sulfation is interesting.
