Why is this trailer not selling?

Because you are in Indiana and I'm in Colorado. I'm looking for something like this for a build.

Honest opinion, with no disrespect intended. $1600 is a fair amount of coin for essentially a stock M416, missing fenders, which are not easy to come by in an OEM replacement.

IMO cut in tail gates are of dubious value at best because 1) unless really REALLY done properly it mucks up the rigidity of the box, 2) these were water tight and made to float, which is generally destroyed in a tailgate conversion, unless the converter takes great pains in the tailgate conversion, and 3) I've never really seen the point, personally.

While I am quite fine with the original style NDTs, they are one of the first things most guys dump when they build one of these out. IOW, no value added for a lot of guys.

I have an original unmodified, primered, 99.99% rust free, straight prime version sitting in front of my garage, lacking nothing but a coat of paint, that I paid a whopping $400 for. Cheaper than most for sure, but the last one I sold I only paid $500 for, and it was in like condition, with original paint.

Anyway, now that I'm done making a short story long, to answer your question, if it isn't selling its probably priced too high. Or the right buyer that really really wants it hasn't come along. Do you want your price, or do you want it sold? A question we all have to answer when selling.

No disrespect either, that's alot of money for that trailer. There's a guy some what close to me selling one for $1,500 and it has fenders, new paint, new lights, wheels and bfg's already on it and he can't sell his for $1,500.

I am a gold prospector and miner. I really needed the tailgate to make loading equipment in and out of the trailer to be an easy task. Believe me the conversion was done right with NO loss of integrity to the sides (welded angle iron reinforcements took care of that)

As far as fenders go you can buy new OEM's for $80 each but most want to build theirs out to 12" wide to allow for step racks along the outside bottom of the tub for propane tanks, jerry cans, etc.

After reading the reply's it makes sense that everyone has their own idea of how they want their trailer to function, such as being able to float it or what not.
I had a specific purpose for mine and the Tailgate along with the whopping 6ply military off road tires made sense for my purposes.

Guess I'll lower the price a little and wait for the right buyer.
