I'm selling my 2010 Maggiolina Airlander (medium) rooftop tent. I love this tent, and it has been a great little treehouse for the backcountry, but we are expecting our first child this summer and I expect that I will be camping on the ground for the next several years, at least until I can afford a Four Wheel Camper. I hate to see the Maggiolina go, but I'd hate even more for it to ride around on the top of my truck for five years not getting used. My loss, your gain, and all that.
It's the medium Airlander, with WxLxH dimensions of 57" x 83" x 36". Check them out on AutoHome's website here. I'm 6'2" and can just fit comfortably lengthwise leaving room for someone else to sleep next to me. If you're taller than me you'll need to sleep diagonal. The fiberglass is in excellent shape. There are a few scuffs on the top from parking garages and low-hanging shrubbery, but I think they would all buff out with a little elbow grease. The canvas is in very good shape with no rips or tears. There are a couple of pinholes in one corner where the canvas was pinched when closed once, but they don't appear to affect waterproofness. Water still beads nicely on the canvas, although it's probably getting time for a re-treatment. The interior is in excellent shape. The foam mattress is firm, there are three pillows, and freshly washed flannel sheets. The headliner is perfect and there is an interior dome light that's never even been hooked up. The tent comes with the Maggiolina collapsing ladder.
I'm asking $1300, which is less than half of what they go for new, which I think is fair given the condition. I am not willing to ship. I am in Alameda, CA. You come to me, park your vehicle next to mine, and we can transfer from one to the other. The tent weighs about 130 pounds, so two people can move it without too much difficulty. PM me for my phone number if you're interested or have detailed questions. Otherwise, post questions here and I'll do my best to answer them. If no interest in a few days I'll post on Cracklist.
