This flatbed was built for a 2002 Fuso FG but could be easily modified to fit a domestic mid or full-size truck. Currently mounted with U Bolts but could be easily adapted to an earthcruiser style spring mounting setup.
The bed was professionally built from aluminum channel (raw aluminum alone totals $1,400). The previously owner invested nearly $3k to have it professionally built.
The main structure of the flatbed is 6” Alum C channel with 3” Alum C channel crossmembers. The edges of the flatbed are made from 5” Alum C channel.
The flatbed was originally built without the “headache” rack and I would recommend removing it and the triangle gussets for overland use. This should be less than 30 min task for a competent metalworker.
The rear tail light apron of the flatbed has some non structural damage and I would also recommend cutting it off for simplicity of design and aesthetics. This again should be a less than 30 min task for a competent metalworker.
The flatbed crossmembers have been drilled for composite trex style decking or wood planks. The bed could also be converted to alum plate surface if so desired.
It's not perfect but with a weekend of clean up and mounting you could have a great flatbed for a fraction of the cost of a new one.
It's 12 ft long by 88in wide but again could easily cut down for a mid/full size truck. Frame risers are at 27.5in outside edge to outside edge. For wider full size frames I recommend sistering on a second piece aluminum tube.
The core structure of the bed could also be used for a camper box subframe.
Also included is an $400+ aluminum underbody box on the drivers side of the bed.
Asking $SOLD. Located in Los Angeles Ca.
