Steel will kill the aluminium hawse fairlead but not the cast iron. We had a 1970s forestry truck which ran the same cast iron fairlead for 40 years. Zero sign of wear.I have had both synthetic and steel Warn VR10's and the steel line just kills the hawse fairleads. I think it is just a way for warn to save money as a rolller is more money to make i am sure.

I suppose a forestry truck is just pulling straight on maybe a log or something. On my jeep pulling at all different angles
