Sony SLR Repair help?

Well, at the last event I went to, the Sony SLR took a hard hit :eek:and shattered the rear LCD. The camera appears to still work, but only in the auto modes since I can't set anything.

Best Buy Protection plan will not cover dropping it, so I am out there.

Anyone know a good repair place?

Well, I called the Black Tie protection people, and upon further inspection, my wife bought the "Platinum Protection Plan" which DOES cover accidental damage. She bought the right one for my present, it saved me a new camera body...

So I took it in before they changed their minds, and it has been sent off. Thanks for the help guys, and I will have it back hopefully soon.

Great news. I always tell my customers that if you have to pay for a repair that you may as well buy a new camera. Costs are insane!

Bought a friend a camera a few years ago for Christmas. At dinner Christmas day camera got dropped. Against my advice they sent it away. Total repair cost $100.00 less than a new camera. After repair the camera never did work right.

I would say that the protection that you bought was something that most outdoor people should by.
