Nope, Google maps works fine for on road. I do search and rescue here, mostly use hand held Garmin gps for off road. A lot of our team do use gaia on tablets or phones.

Not this one. I did have a search dog but she expired a few years ago after a wonderful 13 years. My current hiking GPS is an Oregon 600
