I like the idea. It would be a nice piece of mind on the trail as well as a way for those back home to relax knowing all is OK. I can even use it to threaten my teenage daughter, (she won't know if it's in her car or not). :smiley_drive:
I noticed they didn't make it easy to find the "air-time" charge for those that choose to buy. To purchase the unit is only $149 USD. By going to the GEOS site you find the air-time charge of 29.95 per month, or the option to pay an annual fee of $323. The optional "insurance" for recovery and rescue is a deal at $7.95 per year for $100K in coverage annually.
Does anyone have one of these? performance? I couldn't find any technical info on the GPS chip used, internal antenna, etc.
