I came across this some weeks ago and contacted the company in South Africa (such a PITA trying to get any vendor to ship to you directly from ZA; try getting your hands on a Jurgens Trailer). It's quite genius if not terribly impractical. For my upcoming trip through Palo Duro Canyon (TX) I was looking for a way to set up camp and still be able to utilize my 4Runner to rove around. This is a standalone system that allows you to mount your RTT and leave it up without the vehicle being stationary. The fellow I spoke to explained they’ve had some interest Stateside and were looking for a distributor however still nothing. With current exchange rates the cost is a little under $1k for the stand itself and from the video you get an idea of how it incorporates into the vehicle rail system. In my case however I’ve decided to forgo an RTT purchase, opting instead to use my tent, one of the ones that goes on the ground…

Just thought others might find this interesting. I’m sure one with the skills and talent could fabricate something very similar...:sombrero:

THX for the link share.
That looks like an interesting RTT setup and i'm sending the link to my son who's dreamin' up his build once he is stateside from deployment after ~3 yrs away from the states.

Seems to me that for another $1K, one could purchase a very nice ground tent (i.e. Springbar, Oztent) to supplement their RTT.
