Guys,
My starter is giving me the problems recently, last time I had to bang it with the hammer to start the engine.
I will certainly try to rebuild one I have but as I live in Europe and I cannot get starters straight from the shelve, I need a spare unit anyway - so I am on the hunt to buy one.
Here comes the problem - there is so much choice and so many opinions that two days of reading and I cant make the choice
Starter
OEM - expensive - worth the money ?
Aftermarket heavy duty - expensive - any good ones ?
Aftermarket cheap ones - afraid of low quality
Used ones - rather not the option for me - expensive shipment to Europe
What starter brand did you guys have a good experience with ? I need a brand / model available on the ebay or amazon to have it shipped to me. I can spen the money, just need to make sure I am doing the right choice.
Hi Amp Alternator
Same as with the starter to many options to make a choice. I want an alternator with 200 to 230 amps. Will be running 16.5 Warn winch, aux batteries with capacity approx 200 ah, One bigger led bar and few smaller ones, fridge - so the bigger consumer is the winch and all other is a ''usual'' stuff.
- from what I have researched stock E350 has 110 Amp ?
- there are Hi Amp alternators in ''large'' and ''small'' cases as per this website http://store.alternatorparts.com/8253m-hd200-ford-diesel-alternator.aspx - is ist better to swap to big case? Does it fit E350 ?
Anybody who swapped the alternator to Hi amp with good experience can recommend any brand / model ?
