Stubby Bumper

I would like to replace the stock front bumper on my '09 Rubicon with a stubby bumper but do not want to change the stock suspension in any way to include spacers, my concern is the extra weight would cause some droop. Is there a stubby bumper available that would allow me to have some protection for the sway bar motor without weighing much (if any) more than the stock front bumper?

Thanks

The stock bumper is plastic entirely, with the excdption of 2.5 ft piece of stamped steel behind it directly under the "7 slots".

No after market bumper out there will weigh anywhere near the same as the stock bumper.

You will find that most aftermarkets are anywhere from 60-120 LBS for the JK.

Obviously in the heavier sets you would have to consider a suspension upgrade to maintain full compression in the front end, however, with the slightly lighter ones, you may be ok.

Why, may I ask, do you not wish to tune the suspension?

There are far too many brands to list, however, one bumper alot of people have been enjoying is the Rugged Ridge Modular.

Thanks for the link Zeero, I like the looks of their products. I bought a 2004 Rubicon new back in the day and dropped big cash in many ways almost immediately after it's purchase. I decided that I would like to spend a year or so running this one at stock before I make changes to the factory suspension, I really want to think through all the changes that may be made to ensure that it all "works" for my needs.

No problem for the link. Alot of guys are using their products.

SOunds like a good plan for an investment into a good vehicle for the future.

I'm using a Hanson bumper on my '07 Rubi...stubby, winch mountable, intergrated fog light, d-ring mounts..and weight it not too bad
