Looking at that page, I'm really surprised now that that Subaru never brought back their "low range", at least for some models. I'll bet people nowadays would love it. For those not familiar, Subaru 4x4 models (this was in the pre-fulltime years) had it back in circa 1980-198x; not sure when they discontinued it. Wasn't was as much reduction as true four-wheelers had, but it was noticeable at least. "46% gear reduction". Or 1.46:1 in the common way of expressing it, with the flick of another lever that sat beside the "4WD" lever.
