Its a great and usually easy one. It was the first trail I took my stock 4runner on when I bought it. The rain has done a number to it, but its still not too bad and the mine structures are amazing!viatierra said:Cool Tim! After doing Phoenix area trails since 1995 I still haven't been to Sunflower mine...
Hey Seth! There you are! YIKES! I should have asked for your radio channel or cell number! Even though we were headed out as you went in it could have helped if you were in trouble. Doh. Sorry about that.seth_js said:Ran into Tim that day. There were some major washouts on the north end of the loop on the shelf roads. On one my tail actually slid off and my rear driver tire was hanging off the edge. I almost wet myself. Further up there was another bad one that I didn't actually even want to try. But I spent a little bit of time digging the passenger side down and filling in the washout. Then I threw on my seat belt and just gunned it. My nerves were on edge the rest of the trip.
Thanks Jamie!SAR_Squid79 said:Looks like a nice trip. Very cool pics! You're right - those couple of pics look wierd and not real. Very cool.
All that trash makes me so angry!!! What the hell is wrong with people?!?!?!
Purple People Eater said:I love this trail. The mines are in such great shape, and it's pretty close to the valley. I can never gather the guts to pass that first shelf, tho.
