Suspension question/ problem 2016 Tacoma offroad

I'm carrying a solid 500 lbs all time and another 500+- when camping.
ORW installed a set of Deaver Stage 1 leafs and bilstine 5160 w/ remote resi. They said the leaf pack was rated for 750lbs.
Around town it feels like I'm on no suspension it bottoms out hitting speed bumps or small bumps. On the freeway at speed it works fine, you can feel the suspension working compressing and keeping the truck level as it hits uneven spots in the highway. Ideas on where to go from here? Thanks

Well for starters: your camping payload is well over the weight these aftermarket leafs are rated for. If you plan on carrying up to 1k lb's worth of payload, I would go back to the OEM leaf springs or find an aftermarket set that can handle that weight.

Even with your part-time load of 500 lb's, you're using quite a bit of the leaf spring's capacity. So bottoming out or getting much more compression out of the springs when carrying that amount of weight is to be expected. Many of the aftermarket leaf spring kits are designed to provide better articulation and ride comfort, but they do so at the expense of load capacity (some more than others).

Thats my plan, I'm not sure I got what I ordered from ORW.. CALLING DEAVER IN THE AM. will let everyone know what ai find. I hear Deaver is able a willing to custom make what ever your needs are

In my experience, very few of the suspension components are up to the task of performing at their "rated" capability. Seems some companies pull their ratings completely out of their asses.

I'd suggest you contact Deaver Springs and have them make you a set that's custom tailored to your needs.
No kidding, I think your right on that thought

I think part of the problem is they market them to both 2nd and 3rd gens. My 2nd gen access cab is lighter and lower than a 3rd gen ccsb from the factory but both trucks get the same aftermarket suspension. I'm going to get more lift and payload than someone running the same kit on a 3rd gen.

I had a set Deavers, wasn't impressed with them and they clapped out pretty quick. No complaints with my OME HD's other than a harsh ride when unloaded. Which is an easy fix, just carry a little bit of weight back there all the time.

x2 for OME. I had Dakars and had steel swing out Demello bumper with 33" tire, ARE HD shell w/ Maggiolina tent on all the time and the suspension was perfect with that and a couple thirty packs in the back. Fully loaded for a week in the desert they only suffered a bit. I have OME BP-51's in my current Tacoma and wish I could go back in time and set this one up like the old one. Old one had Icon stage 5? with OME Dakar leafs in the rear. That was my favorite setup of the six Tacomas I have owned, and will be how I set up my next one as well...

turns out I also have a set of airbags ( bought it that way and did not know they were there...) but am told they are the cause of my bottoming out. Does that make any sense... I was told if I removed them there will e more travel?? How does that work?
