Sway control for Trooper

I have the OME 1.5" lift, and am wanting to somehow reduce lean and sway in my 2000 Trooper. Is the Calmini heavy-duty sway bars the only option?

Do you have OME shocks as well. If not I'd upgrade to the adjustable kind like the ones Rancho sells. Also check your sway bar bushings and see if they are up to snuff. Calmini has a rep for horrible customer service with certain things. Try Matt at www.independent4x.com for aftermarket isuzu stuff. The sway away tosion bars are way better than the Calmini IMO..

what Benny said. if you are running stock shocks they are trash. the ome shocks should do the trick. if that is not enough then matt at indy4x has torsion bars on sale.

I would start with Sway-a-way torsion bars. Assuming you got the engine issue worked out. How did that go?

First, swap out the sway bushings. Then swap in Vehicross sways, they are the same diameter as the Calminis. My troopers ran with 4-5" of lift, I never saw much improvement in replacing spring, t-bars or shocks. Big changes occurred with beefier sway bars, poly mounts and repositioned rear link mounts.

Thanks for the input. The reason I was asking about the sway bars in the first place, was because I have a broken sway bar link. And I figured if I was going to have to replace that, I might try to upgrade while I'm there. So I could get new bushings/links, and you're saying that the Vehicross sways will fit?

Actually, the VX sways require larger bushings. I would recommend upgrading to poly bushings with either the trooper or the VX sways. ON the links, you might want to upgrade to www.independent4x.com quick disconnect sways. They are much less likely to bend, plus they greatly increase rear articulation. If you just need a sway link, you may want to post on www.planetisuzoo.com there are quite a few guys that have extra parts and pieces.

PS, you can get the pol bushings from independent4x.com. Matt sells them in trooper and VX diameters.
