Tacoma bed covers

I have a Flippac from a 2004 Tacoma. Bought a new 2011 Tacoma and the bed tapers wider in the front and narrower in the back. When I remove the factory side bed plastic covers to mount the camper the stake holes in the front are not covered by the camper due to the wider bed in the front. I can't find low profile bed rail covers for a newer Toyota since they come with them. The ones from the factory are quite high and I would like to find some thinner maybe aluminum or stainless. Any ideas or know someone who can fab some??

Thanks

Hey Marty,

I have a new flip pac on my 2010 tacoma and I had the same issue - all I did was use a little more foam tape to cover up the holes.

But leave the plastic bed caps off - had it originally on an 09 tacoma but switched to the 10 (went from a 4cyl 5 speed 4x4 access cab to an automatic 4.0 double cab 4x4 :coffee: )

The dealership swapped the flippac over and left the bedcaps on (against what I had asked for) and in the 200 kms between pickup and me removing the bedcaps you could see where they were rubbing against the metal underneath - my guess is the weight of the cap would break them after 10k or so kms.

Thats what I was afraid of. Mine is mounted with the rails on and I fear the plastic will only last so long. It also leaves a hight gap in the back at the corners. Found some stake hole covers I may try.

Thanks Marty
