Tacoma losing power

07 Tacoma, 112K , 2.7L 4x4 manual.

Losing power when the vehicle is up to temp, I catch 2nd or 3rd gear and it accelerates normally then around 2500-3000 RPM it suddenly loses power and stops pulling.

It doesn't sputter or pop, its smooth. You pump the gas once or twice and it starts to accelerate again.

I replaced the CAT last week as it was rattling, it cured the problem. Now today it started doing it again, I replaced the air filter, cleaned the PCV valve, throttle body, and MAF sensor to no avail.(Plugs have 20K on them).

Throughout this problem I have never had a check engine light. I took it to Advance and had them pull the codes, nothing.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Some sort of lost...
Fuel pressure? If you pump the gas and it comes back, it makes me think there may be a fuel delivery issue. Plugged injectors, plugged fuel filter, weak fuel pump etc.

I agree, I think its fuel related. Based on what I read online the only "filter" is a screen on the bottom of the fuel pump. If I drop the tank, I will replace the pump and screen all at once.

I do however see what appears to be a small inline filter on the return side, I dont have a service manual to determine if its factory or not.

DVexile- yes I found a manual online, its not showing what I need. I am going to try replacing this small in line filter see if that helps.

I see that URD has a bunch of pump options, unfortunately they are all for V6 Tacoma's and mine is a 4cylinder. I will call them and see if perhaps there kit will work on my truck. That being said my motor is stock and I certainly dont need to add any extra flow to the system, it works fine as is when its working...

My little bro is a master Toyota tech (unfortunately we live 1500 miles apart). He was saying it could be any number of relays (fuel pump, fuel injection, 02 relay) or it could be the fuel pump, an intermittent 02 sensor problem or the throttle body. My parts gal at the dealership says that fuel pumps are very rare and throttle bodies are even more so rare as a problem on a truck with only 112K.

I am going to order all of these relays today and see if that helps. Thanks for the help guys! I will update if I have any changes.
