Tacoma thoughts...

Okay I blame this on Mark's post on selling his dcab super built tacoma :sombrero: but it got me thinking. I wana build asleep platform like Bajataco and I also want to have a fridge but I forgot about my dog. Where the hell is he going to ride Its going to be tight with two people and a dog.

In terms of space the 2005+ Tacoma extend cab are perfect in my opinion. The side access doors are awesome. The only draw back is its gas mileage. If it got 25+ mpg, I get one in a heart beat. But you do get more room and power (compare to a stock pre-2005 ).

I think I'll wait till maybe 2009. I know I'm dreaming but they just redesigned the Tacoma. Maybe they'll come out with a TRD 4x4 hybrid syngery drive Tacoma.

I'll probably just hang on my truck. Its almost paid off and even though its at its full potential right now, its got sentimental vaule.

BTW all this mpg talk is because my parents just got a 2007 Prius.

im not sure what you have planned for behind the seats but i sold some taco parts to a guy that built a platform behind the seats for his dogs. He covered it with some marine astroturf and it tightened down with wingnuts. It basically gave the dogs a 2' by 4 or 5' platform in the back. I dont know what kind of dog you have but this guys had 2 labs. If you had a mastiff or something you might consider a doggy trailer lol.

What options have you explored as far as the deck goes? My last setup had some benches along each side as well as up along the cab wall like a |_| and had a piece that pulled out from the floor and sat on top to make it flat. I found that it wasnt tall enough to sit comfortably but it was aot nicer for day to day to be able to put bigger things closer to the ground and not obstrct my view.

Keep us posted on your design, im now on round......3 i believe as far as camper setups go so im excited to see some new stuff.

well, with the dog and fridge in the extend cab part, the space would be pretty damn tight. Probably just enough room for a small back pack.

Dont know about the fridge yet. I may have ot built the plate form that has a cut out space for a medium size cooler. :Mechanic:
