Tepui ladder locking problem

I bought a tepui autana sky in October of last year, and just a couple weeks ago started having a strange problem with the extension ladder. One of the locking mechanisms on the ladder seems to have failed. I can fully extend the ladder, making sure the lock is actuated, but if I gently shake the ladder, the lock comes undone. Not even a hard shake, but more just vibrating the ladder. You can actually see the locking tab working its way back up. Also, if I put any weight on the ladder, the lock fails. It is only on one side that this happens, I have a video of the issue but not sure how to post it.

I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this problem, maybe there's a fix or something. I've got a trip coming up next month but I'm a little hesitant to trust the ladder in this condition especially since my son will be climbing in and out of this tent.

I'm still trying to figure my ladder out on my Autana. I have had a similar issue, but after collapsing and extending the ladder once or twice it holds. This exercise doesn't inspire confidence but it has not failed me after I get it set.

There is been a redesign on the ladder that improved the locking mechanism and how the rungs are held in place. That update happened sometime last year but I don't know if the ladder that you guys (dacktapeguy or yarjammer) have are the updated ones or not. But dstn2bdoa is exactly right. Call the shop 800-301-9874 and talk to Griffin. He will help you out and can help you with a replacement if it's needed.

Just wanted to update that Tepui customer service is awesome. I e-mailed them a few times but I guess it wasn't going through reliably, but called them and they shipped out a new ladder immediately. The new ladder feels sturdier and better made, but it is about half inch narrower than the old one. Had to redrill one of the mounting brackets to make it fit, but other than that it's working great again.

Glad you got it sorted out. For any issues like this, a phone call will get you the quickest response, after that a PM to me here is probably the next quickest. The shop gets so busy that sending an email is likely one of the slowest to get a response.
