In honor of Memorial Day,this seems appropriate to post. The link below is a very in-depth story on the extent of uses Joe Rosenthal's famous Iwo Jima image has been put too. I personally don't think I'd want to have to go through all the things he did, both to get the shot, and all that followed afterwards. The text long, but scroll down to the photos. Fascinating stuff. Keep scrolling and you get a lot of action scenes. Some of them gruesome.
