So after all the wondering and all the worrying and finally deciding that the Marlin was the way to go...... The Best Wife Ever® surprised me with a very unorthodox valentine's day present:

So I now am totally ready for the zombies. The Marlin has a nice little scope and 1000rds of ammo. The Mosin Nagant has a bayonet, sling, cleaning kit, tool kit, and 450rds. It also has the all-important 2000meter iron sight.

Welcome to the Zombie-Hunter Cult. I recently received my Mountain Zombie qualification patch :sombrero:

What does the round for the Mosin Nagant look like. Not to many guns can accurately hit 2000 meters, heck most folks can't even see that far. I had a original belgium made FAL .308 that would tackle 1000 yards with a 40 power scope. I heard zombies liked shotguns the best though one of the heavier ammo's to carry. Oh and you need more ammo!

Well first off, congrats on your purchases.
I got a buddy with a couple difference Mosin-Nagants. I'm personally longing for a M-44 carbine.
But, while a 7.62x54R round could be fired at 200 yards, I highly doubt it could be done accurately. 200 sounds more likely.
