The Bundu Gear GX storage solution

Okay- i did a whole big write up and lost the whole lot. So here is the short version.
I wanted a non-permanent storage setup for my Lexus GX 470. I also wanted light weight, and easy removal/installation.
What do you think?

Here it is all powdercoated up and mounted.
The rails are attached to the factory tie-down points.

Here is the lower frame mounted to the rail. I have used small rectangular brackets with wingnuts to secure it to the rails, but am working on a genuine quick-release to make installation and removal a 1-person 5-minute process.

And here is the finished product. I'll take some better pictures soon.

The slides both lock in and lock out. The stove bracket locks up and down utilizing a pressed-in spring bolt for extremely easy and secure operation. The only rattling is from the stove grid itself, which shakes inside the closed stove.
After some good testing and refining, this will be available for sale. It will fit a variety of vehicles due to its slim design. The Bundu Box drawer will allow multiple drawers to be mounted on top of each other to create stacked drawers. This system will fit in 4-Runners, LR Discos's and LR3/4, Defenders, all Land Cruisers etc. I'm going to see if it will fit in FJ Cruisers. It is about 2 inches too wide to fit in JK's.
The beauty of this system over built-in systems is that it can be removed so easily. Also, it allows the boxes to be removed and taken to various places in the campsite, and not have to go backward and forward getting stuff out of drawers. Soon to come will be the prep table on the stove slide, allowing for prep room, as well as cooking and access to the fridge all at the same time.
More details will be released soon.

I like it, nice and neat and not overly complicated. Personally I wouldn't cook with that setup as I and others would still like to be able to access the fridge while cooking, plus don't like cooking that close to the car. But plenty of people do and it is a very neat solution

Thanks Grimbo. The stove will actually also be on a quick release of sorts, allowing the user to remove the stove and use it elsewhere. Sometimes you cannot or do not want the vehicle too close to the campsite or firesite, so i completely agree in not always cooking out the back of the vehicle. Also planning on some sort or fabric barrier inside to stop smoke from getting in my Lexus leather :)
And i also like to access the fridge, so you can. Either from the front, even while the stove is being used and on, or you can also use it from behind. As it is, the fridge completely opens while the stove is in use, or closed.

Very nice...can I ask what your source was for the lower black rails that bolt to you factory mounts in the floor.
I have been looking for something like that.
Thanks

That looks like a nice set up! I like how simple it is. As some one with drawers, there is something to be said about being able to take the boxes away from the car. Good job!:sombrero:

I was gonna say, I'd be longing for a "countertop" with that setup.
I'd probably have the stove face the other way just so the other side can serve as sort of a prep area (though depending on the outcome of your prep table, maybe this won't be necessary).
A nice simple setup regardless though.

I'd like to see it in a FJ.

Any idea of estimated cost?

We'll have to test it in an FJ, and may get the chance this weekend. Cost wise, i'd rather not hazard a guess now and be way off; so I'll do it as accurately as i can and as soon as I can. Thanks for the patience.

I've got slide out boxes in my 4Runner instead of drawers. Love being able to drag them all over camp. Great looking setup!
