the classic is gonna LIVE!!!

Hey all, long time lurker, I'm also on landroversonly and advrider so this forum is the natural progression of both and i'm glad to be here :wings:

I have a 93 RRC that has the habit of being a well a range rover classic (owners know what i'm talking about) anyways after a few months of using it as a daily driverm the leaks and stalling issues have made me want to get another more relaible rig, but i get to keep the Rangie! I have only 1000 bucks in it so far so a pretty much don't care how bouchered this thing gets, my end result i'm hoping will be a reliable rig that i can take out for a day maybe two of hard wheeling at a time. this winter i will overhaul the engine, this summer i will take the body of the frame and fix any rust and all the body work, then next winter the driveline will be overhauled and the rest of the odds and ends squared away, by the way i intend to make this thing topless...:Wow1:

here are my goals and why i need some help...
I wanna get rid of the electronics, mainly switch to a carbuerator and something other then the lucas ignition system... What other distrubutors can i use with the engine? can i use an intake manifold made for a buick or older rover to convert to a carb?
I want to make it 4 wheel steering, if i get an additional front axel from another land rover and put it in the rear will everything spin the right direction? i will probably go to a hydrolic steering system...
now back to the engine, what parts are interchangable from the landrover to the buick? i have a bit of a piston slap so i'll be going to a larger bore when i do the overhaul, are the 4.6's the same block? i have a 4.2 now...

thanks in advanced, i will probably be visiting this and the other forums alot during this process, hopefully i wil buy my new truck tomorrow so i can start tearing the engine out of the rangie soon!
