The latest improvement on the Four Wheel Pop-up Campers is ...

The latest improvement on the Four Wheel Pop-up Campers is new vinyl fabric for the pop-up.

The new fabric is made for us in Germany using an exceptionally strong polyester scrim fabric coated, not laminated, with a proprietary vinyl surface.

The fabric, after heat curing, is treated with a highly durable UV protective coating.

The color is a lighter gray than the fabric we have used for years, will be cooler in the summertime, and is more pleasing to the eye.

Pictures posted below of the first units on the production line show the difference in color.

We are excited to have found something to make our campers just a little bit better.

The journey continues.

:)

Very cool Stan. Glad to hear you are working on improvements to the top fabric. I know just how hard it is to get textiles to agree with outdoors and just how expensive it can get to make it last.

Stan;
The second camper in your pictures looks very narrow and has no bottom cut out for wheel wells. Is that for a Kei Truck?

The lighter gray is a great idea and you are correct is does look better.
Will this be on display at the Overland Expo in Flag?
Alas, still slowing saving up for my FWC Fleet model.

I can't tell much difference from the two photos. Sure, one is lighter but it doesn't look all that different. Maybe shinier?

Stanaroo, do you have any close up photos?

Incessant, all-day posters like me would love to see an up close photo :D .

i dont think your looking at it right,, its simply the first camper in both photos compared to the ones in the background, same camper two angles.

Hey Rhino,

I understood only the first camper in the line in each photo is the same and the only one shown with the new material. My wording could have been clearer.

Go figger I'm a language nerd.....there's an idiomatic expression about a cobbler and his children that's probably appropro right now.

Anyways, I'm sure FWC has done their homework and that the new material is, indeed, a measurably improved change from the former material. I'm pretty fond of the old material (bombproof) so I guess I was just looking for some extra photos to convince me how much greater the new stuff is.

Dinette Table Changes

Stan, what is status of changing the dinette table from being mounted on a center pole to be more like a Lagun table mount?
