The Magnets Worked!

Well, I'll be jiggered! :jumping:

The little 3/4" magnets I got from + d (thanks, David :D ) worked like a charm! :wings:

I epoxied them to the base and the thing sticks like crazy! It won't work on the roof of course but it sure works great anywhere there's metal!

I wired it with a cigarette lighter plug so I can get power from any of the several 12 volt outlets I have.

See ya at the ExPo Rally!

Ed

Oh...and I stuck 3/4" round labels on the feet to avoid scratches in the paint...

Can you put a small plastic film or felt simillar to prevent harming the paint too. Looks good!

The pictures are awesome. The overall look is great! Can you drive with it out like that or are you just going to use it at camp. Thanks

I can use any self adhesive plastic or otherwise. I just happened to have round Avery labels here...

No, this is not for driving, just around camp, changing a tire, whatever.

I wired it up this morning. Works like a champ.

Great idea. What kind of worklamp is that? I'd like to get something similar for my rig. Good idea,

jeff

It's a Hella Matador auxiliary light...

I think my girls got it from Expedition Exchange. Matador Light

It was a Christmas gift last year. Yeah, I know...a little late getting it installed.

But...mas vale tarde que nunca!

anything more about the magnets?

Those particular one's I bought locally at a surplus store, but in the past I have bought neodymium magnets from http://www.amazingmagnets.com/ they've got a good selection and in the past when I've ordered they included a free pen and sampler kit! woohoo!

Also looks like they started carrying some threaded cup like assemblies, those are pretty slick.

If you just need a few let me know and I can drop some in the mail for you.
