The Xterra is no more...

So yesterday I traded in the Xterra. Its kind of sad to see it go, but leaving emotions aside, it was beginning to cost just too much money to maintain. In the past year I have put over $5k in repairs and maintenance into it. Timing chain, cam position sensor, transfer case leak, rear pinion seal leak, new brakes/rotors, new lower control arms, new radiator, etc. etc.

I now have a 2007 F-150 XLT 4x4 with the 5.4L V-8. This will just end up being a much more practical vehicle for me and the fact that I was able to purchase an all-inclusive 3 year 36k mile warranty with it is a huge bonus.

So, as sad as I am to say goodbye to the Nissan, I am quite happy to say hello again to a fullsize truck!

Sorry to hear the bad luck with the X, and it's sale. But congrats on the new truck, it should treat you well.

I know your pain as I've sunken in quite about the same in repairs in mine. Hope the F150 treats you well up in Idaho!

Well, just last weekend, I towed around 11,100lbs worth of top soil and trailer, with hardly any effort (surprising!) and I know the Xterra wouldn't have faired so well, if at all. I also transported two pallets of sod and a tree.. I would still be planning my projects and how to complete it if I still had the Xterra... So right now I am loving my truck!

That's a ton of sod! Forget the Xterra hauling any load of that weight. You doing some landscaping work around the house?

yeah man. I pulled a dead tree from my front yard, along with all the plants and weeds around it and layed sod and a new Sargent Cherry tree in its place. I also had a gravel pit in the back yard where a nasty old shed was that I removed and I dug the gravel and some clay out of there and replaced with top soil and sod.. looks much better now!

Nice, that's a cozy home you guys have there. The yard looks cleaner without the extra greenery and spooky tree. Luckily You don't have to experience the water shortage drought going on here now. It's ridiculous enough that the gubment fines you whenever you go over a specific limit.

Its funny that you mention the water situation. Up here, I am on irrigation water for my yard. That means I get all the water I want to use all summer long for my yards, for a flat fee of $60... I run my sprinklers 3x a day!
