There's an AEV Prospector XL conversion Ram 2500 chassis for sale in N. Georgia!

I've always, admittingly, have wanted to pick up one of the Ram 2500 Utility trucks

and then do the AEV goodies - similar to this UTE

Would make for a neat track car support tow vehicle.

There is one here in Spokane too for sale, it's for sale by Diesel power products so it has all of the goodies on it. with all of the upgrades they named it the "Prospector Nomad".

That's a good company. I'd trust their install and judgement.

I've seen and worked on one truck they built. They do nice work and I usually drive by their location a few times a week. I definitely trust their install, not so much their judgement. I saw pictures of them wheeling.:snorkel:

pretty sure that's stock paint. i think they call it prairie or something. however, it does not appear to be an XL model as stated in the title of thread

(also, not sure what they did in '15, but in '16/17 if you wanted grill to be body color instead of black or chrome, then you got the sport appearance package which also blacked out headlamps. that truck seems to have body color grill, but not the blacked out lights. so who knows?)

I will be in that area this weekend, if anyone wants a closer look. The dealer is about 30 min from the family place. I may go look just because on the way up or back.

While thats a nice looking RAM 2500, its not an actual prospector.... Instead, its a RAM that someone outfitted exactly like a prospector after the fact. Its missing all of the "custom" rev badging that a Prospector would have.

Still, a nice truck at a reasonable price.

That's a nice-looking truck. Yeah, I wouldn't mind that, either, for a retirement vehicle. I'd probably need an extended cab to keep the wife happy, but other than that, love it!

Crew Cab so she can take a nap back there.

Crewcab is nice (have one now), but with no kids after retirement, I think I'd appreciate the longer bed more. I know Crewcab LB are available, but I'd like to keep the overall length in check. Although, those pics of SuperDuty SuperCrew with longbeds look pretty sweet.

Never had a flat bed before though. Seems they'd be better at carrying wide loads, but less user-friendly for other, normal usage. They still look cool, though.

Me I would rip out the back seat and use it for storage either crew or extra cab...extra cab make more sense if you have no need to haul people...however, crawling back and taken a nap while someone else drives sounds appealing (think that means I am getting old :D )

Speaking of naps...while I do like the the no nonsense look of regular cabs...do like to recline the seat to nap. So it is either an EC or CC for me. I tend to go to the park 1 minute from work, and catch a couple zzz's on lunch. :D

We had a flatbed for work...great for loading pallets and stuff from the side, kinda suck other-wise for regular use, prefer a normal bed with a topper for personal use.

Though I do like this if it was a full time camper, flatbed with tool boxes, be a bit cheaper than a full on service body.

Here you go p nut....8' camper in a 6.5' bed, so the wheelbase is somewhat reasonable....sweet and simple.

F250 so you don't have to fret over payload. ;)
