Tire Fitment

Hey everyboday,

I am researching/pondering the idea of buying an old 4x4 van. I found an 80's chevy work van that has been converted to 4x4 already. It has a slider door on it, I know the Ford's mostly have the barn doors on the side so you can put large tires on it. WHat about the GM vans with sliders? Anybody ever put larger tires on a GM van with a slider door? I'm thinking in the 35" range if possible. Do the van 4x4 conversions usually use truck springs front and rear, so that lifting it would be easy as ordering lift springs? Thanks for any help!

Search here and Google for extended door sliders. They used to be common for clearing fiberglass flares.

Springs are all over the map depending on the year and converter--best to measure them and see. Often they tried to use standard springs, but maybe not for what you think. They may be chevy from another year, they may be ford or dodge or rears--you really need to measure and see.
