Tire Rack

Hello all,
Not really sure if this is the right forum for this question. If not maybe a moderator can move it for me. :sombrero:
Just wanted to get everyone's take on using Tire Rack as a source for wheels/tires. I am in the process of getting a dedicated snow/wheel combination for my Subaru and have found it tough to beat the Tire Rack prices. Has anyone had good or bad experiences with Tire Rack. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Cheers!

My dad has used them quite extensively; we usually get stuff shipped to our installer. No problems at all in the past, and yes their prices are hard to beat. Only downside (for some) is that they dont carry lots of the real gnarly tires, but I dont buy those anyways.

I bought a set of winter tires and steel wheels for my old Saab 900 turbo from Tire Rack many years ago. Couldn't have been happier, and would recommend them in a minute.

Yeah, I was just going to have them mount the tires on wheels, then ship them to my house. I can handle the install. My local tire shop wanted $60 more for the same tire...even though I would like to give my business to a local shop, that is a bit extreme. Thanks for the help!

check www.discounttiredirect.com too. they do free shipping, but tire prices are a little higher. For what I've bought though, it still came out cheaper.

Whoa, looks like tire prices have really gone up since Jan. The 315 KM2's were $275, now $310.

I have used TireRack for a few purchases. I have never been left wanting. they mount and balance tires for free if you buy wheels, and customer service is top notch.

I've used them with good luck and my dad used them to buy a set of wheels and tires. One wheel came damaged from shipping. Poor packaging in my opinion. However, they sent out the replacement immediately before seeing the damaged one.

I just used them to purchase a set of Kumho Road Venture SAT KL61 for the wife's xterra. I have also purchased several other sets of tires from them and am very happy with the service.

I used them once, before there was a Discount Tire in my area. Tire Rack was fine. But you had to pay shipping on the tires and all the installation was done by a third party.
I am VERY happy wit hDiscount Tire. Used them for tires on our van. Cheaper than Tire Rack. Picked out my tires online and had them sent to the store just down the road. Even set an appointment time online. In and out in 20 minutes and didn't pay a dime till it was all done. I have since taken my truck there and had work done on both my street tires and offroad tires. Lifetime balance and rotations and repairs. Highly recommended.

Great luck with them for four sets of snow tires and wheels for a variety of vehicles. The balance was off on one set but they quickly refunded the cost to get them balanced locally, which was nice.

I've purchased a few tires from them but have a warehouse that is local, so I pickup the tires instead of ship. I have the tires mounted locally at one of my regular local shops.

I've also purchased a few sets recently from my local Discount Tire store. I like that they can get whatever I want and they will price match.
