Anyone know much about these tires?

It seems lately, I am seeing them all over the place. RG runs them in Baja and Dakar. Lots of mag feature trucks seem to be sporting them.

So anyone know much about these (besides, from what I can tell, they are not cheap) as far as whether they are:

The latest 'IT' tire...It 'LOOKS" cool and comes in big-inch rim sizes

or

a really good tire that is breaking into the market and gaining ground fast?

What reviews I have found seem to show it being a pretty good all around tire, and pretty quiet on-road. Just wanting to see if anyone here has had firsthand knowledge of them.

Mike has them on his project baja chevy truck. 38" I believe. No problems on that big heavy rig and them seem to have balanced and road well. They seems to be getting a great rep but the $ they better!

No doubt. On the cheap end, they are still more than $200 per tire. And move up in rim size and tire height, you go north of $300 REAL quick.

I don't know that I would put them on my TJ, but as I have (at least for this week:rolleyes: ) all but decided to move on to a JK-U by 2008 model year, was thinking these might be a nice set up on a JK.

I have them on my F350 (285/75-16, E rated). I only have a few hundred kilometres on them so far. My initial impression is that they are VERY quite and smooth with much better steering response on road, compared to my previous MTR's. I have not had a chance to use them off road. They have good grip in snow. I also notice much less sidewall bulge in comparison to the MTR's, presumable because of the stiffer E-rated sidewall. As far as price goes, I purchased mine from OK Tire, they were almost exactly the same price as Costco quoted me for E-rated BFG AT's. I am hoping that they will last longer than the MTR's and not fall apart like the BFG's.

So far I am very happy with them, but time will tell how they hold-up on my truck.

Cheers
Mark
