toyos

A couple of years ago, I got a set of toyos A/T for my half ton truck. They were the worse tires I have ever had in my life. They had terrible traction in snow, ice, wet pavment, gravel, etc. They lasted me 20,000 miles of 5,000 miles rotation, and got terrible milage which didn't make sense giving the other flaws, plus one of the most spendy choices for my needs. Since then, I have sworn never to buy another set of toyos.

I see that many members swear and love the toyos M/T. Does anyone have had both the A/T and the M/T and verify that the A/T are worthless, but the M/T are awesome?

That's too bad you had bad luck with the A/Ts. I have them and have had great luck. I have 40,000 with them on a 3/4ton diesel truck and have plenty of tread left. Actually I have liked them so much that I am getting toyo m/ts when these are gone.

I just got a set of Toyo MT's on a trade. I have put one trip to the mountains on them and i really like their characteristics so far. I cant speak on longevity though. I just know they ride pretty good on the road and are plenty aggressive for what I need.

Toyo MT 37's here and not one issue with them yet. They wear great but just like any other bi-directional tire, they do like to be rotated.

I ran the Toyo A/T 265/75/16 on my 1996 Chevy K1500 truck for about 90,000. During that time I went through 8 tires, one complete set and then replaced two tires at a time after that. In the snow the tires were terrible, the snow would pack in the treads and not clean out. Living in northern NV I was never in a lot of mud but the tires did fine in the rocks and hard packed roads we have.

I now have Toyo M/T on my personal truck and my work truck. My personal truck is a 09 DCLB Tacoma with 245/75/16 on them with 35K and enough tread left to get me into summer and the beginning of hunting season when I will change to 235/85/16. My work truck is a 02 F250 with 255/85/16 that I just put on about four weeks ago after running Toyo M-55's. I have been greatly impressed with the Toyo M/T in the snow, mud, rocks, and highway. My trucks see a lot of long highway miles and then may not see a paved road for a week on end.

I've had The M/Ts on my LX470 since december, over 20k miles. Been good to me, I've got probably half tread left, i havent measured to be specific. I've been happy enough with them to purchase the A/Ts in a smaller size for the other truck, also a LX470.
