Toyota Sunrader 4x4

There was a clean 1985 Sunrader 4x4 for sale here in town last week. The guy was asking $13k. It's gone from CL so I assume he sold it. Cool trucks but he wouldn't answer my question about how it performed in the Mountains out here in Wyoming.

Yeah I heard that Sunrader in Wyoming was sold in one day. I don't have a 4x4 but I've been exploring the Sierra Nevadas for almost 7 years in my Sunrader 4 banger and never had a problem. The only thing I have to watch out for is my holding tanks and big ruts or rocks. I have hauled rocks out of the way and filled in ruts. The 4x4s have much higher clearance than mine.

Sunrader in Wyoming now down to $11K. The owner took it to Toyota and found several things including cluthch belts and hibs needing attention. very honest seller but still for sale.

1985 Toyota Sunrader FG-180 RD 4X4

I listed the Sunrader 4X4 you are discussing on craigslist.com and toyotamotorhomes.com several months ago. It is not mine, but I am helping an elderly friend sell it. There was considerable interest in it. But based on several discussions with potential buyers, I soon discovered I did not understand the vehicle as well as I should, nor did I have an adequate understanding of the axle issue. I decided to remove the RV from sale until the vehicle was fully functional and I could write a more accurate description. The owner had the vehicle inspected by Toyota and all deficiencies were repaired. I am now trying to sell it on eBay at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/?cmd...9&item=160676230855&sspagename=STRK:MESELX:IT
It is a great vehicle and just as clean as it looks. The owner purchased it new in Reno in 1985.

Very nice little unit Barry, and the price looks reasonable. I will forward the link to a few friends. Good luck with the sale.

I'm picking up an 86 Sunrader Motorhome with 22RE. It should get substantially better fuel mileage than my 2012 Tacoma DCLB Quadcab. And I got it for less than the mods on my Taco cost.

It's 2WD but wondering how difficult it would be to swap to the 4wd running gear.
