Looking for a direct trade on LR3 Sliders. I have tactical 4x4 sliders and would like to trade them for something lighter. Either voyager with out the side step or maybe Lucky8? I don't need the full frame coverage so it's just extra weight to me. Slider are in Austin. If your in Austin San Antonio Dallas or Houston I can driver to you and we could make the swap. I'm only interested in a trade slider for slider.

The TR's are legit. Have seen them take several huge hits on several vehicles, winched off them etc. Smoking deal here.

I would trade you cash if we can get an easy way to ship them to MD/DC.

Thoughts?

I recently just sold my Voyagers for a new set of T44 sliders. Just to add to the thread, some observations.

* Voyagers are much easier to install, but only install on the body, not the frame mounts like the T44.
* Voyagers are lighter, but not by a massive amount. I don't think it is necessarily worth doing just for the weight.
* Pump relocation bracket on the T44 (for the AMK compressor) is a pain, and will increase sound, you hear it.
* If you intend to take a hit, i think T44 are much better designed for it. They protect the wheel areas front and back better along with compressor and tank areas.. all the way to frame rails.
* The T44 dont really touch the side sills, it has a gap, which is a feature.. if you take a hit and you are able to bend them, they wont be bending body panel.
* The T44 have been recently improved to reduce creaking that they had before, you can put foam rubber on also.
* The T44 are now available with the aluminum metalizing coating, which is amazing for rust prevention. I had mine locally powder coated on top of the coating (zincnation.com)
* I like the voyager steps more because they stick out more. But I like the square bar on the T44 more. And since I ordered a T44 rear bumper with swing outs and side steps, i want the side steps to match.

Voyager makes great stuff though.. I still have the low profile full rack and ladder from voyager. The racks are bomb proof. For sliders, If you don't plan on taking too many hits, the voyagers will be fine, but watch out for that compressor, especially the cover, it sticks below the voyagers and will get sheared off!

i also just ordered T44 transfer case and gas tank skids, so ill have more armor than I probably need, but less to worry about.

Thanks for that info. I done think I would have ever taken that big of a hit on this truck and was truly just a looking at better fuel eco. Truth is I have been very unhappy with this truck. It has a range 250 miles right now with all the the stuff on the truck and there has been something wrong with it since I bought it. It is going to go to the dealer for the 3 time in a month of ownership. I'm getting my 2001 Tahoe Mexico truck back tonight from the transmition shop and then this hunk of junk truck is going on eBay. I can't own a vehicle that has no range and is in the shop all the time after 3 years of flawless work from my 300 TDI disco. I'm just going to full time drive my Tahoe now and keep my eyes out for a nice TJ.

Hi TexasTJ,

If you do decide to unload the truck, you may find that you can collect more money for your TJ fund by parting out some of the accessories.

Food for thought, sorry to hear you're not having a great time with the platform.

Cheers,

Ian

I bought the truck outfitted. So I don't have the parts put back on. Also I really don't have the time too. I'm leaving to Wyoming in two weeks for a climbing trip to the Winds and when I get back school will be back in session.

Sorry to hear this as well as the others. Going the reverse way as you, the comfort and speed is missed but between a one ten and the D1, they're so simple and just work. I know the feeling of frustration. :(

I have an 08 with 93k miles on it and have had almost zero problems with it. I don't feel like I'm jinxing myself by saying it either. I mean I expect things at this point to happen, just sounds like the vehicle you have might have been worn out and not maintained too well before you got it.

I've owned it for about 40k miles as the second owner. I'm going over suspension work now and had an accident with it which I caused the work needed to repair but it handle the bang really well IMO.

On that note, I hate seeing poeple have bad experiences with the vehicle. Range does suck; it sucks miserably if I think about it. I'll do an extended range tank to fix that since diesel is not an option.

Best wishes on your cross-over to the TJ project.
