Trailer get together

Anyone ever thought of having a trailer get together? It would be nice to pick
a great camping location in California where we can all envi peoples creations!
If this sounds good and people are interested i'll do my part in making this
happen. I'm in the Los Angeles area and will travel a bit. Steve.:smiley_drive:

I know that the AT guys run Mojave Road sometimes and all the rigs have trailers. I've never been invited on that one before. It would be cool to have a bunch of trailers out somewhere though. Im game.

Are any of you familiar with the Kennedy Meadows/Monache area of the eastern sierras? Andrew and I are looking to head up there the Friday after July 4th...we'll have our trailers ;)

we may still come and hang in carpark with the dog.....as the place has more rules than China

the steak did'nt work
he won't stay behind....

but then were stuck about where we can camp as everything down there is full.

Its too far to day trip with a 3 month old so we'd need to find somewhere to camp for the night

Mine's not finished...but its roadworthy

Can always hit the top of Gorman? you have Miller jeep trail or Lockwood atleast there your in high elevation and can make as much noise as you want.

I'd love to meet in the Sierras somewhere, I go up every other weekend for 3.5 days. In July I will be up on the 12/13 and 26/27 weekends.

If on a different weekend I can make a SoCal spot for the day.

Dave

PS - Gonna miss the get together this weekend as I'll be in the John Kuir Wilderness!

Okay, I just got back yesterday from one of our every other weekend trips the Sierras. Sometime while I was driving back I started to think how fun it would be to hold a weekend event for off road trailers back in the deep Sierras.

I am willing to organize this if there is enough interest so I'm putting this suggestion out as a feeler:

The 08' Expedition Trailer Roundup

When - July 26/27 2008

Where - Bear Diversion, John Muir Wilderness (N37 20.176 W118 58.437)

Access - After traveling about 2 hours east up mountains roads from Fresno, you get about an hour of narrow single lane asphalt forest road in marginal condition terminated by a 2 mile mild 4X4 road leading to campsite.

Campsite Description - A very large rock plateau just above the Bear Diversion Lake at 7,500 feet.

Panoramic of proposed campsite, find my Jeep in the foreground for scale!

Daytime activities include; a premier hiking trail along Bear Creek, fishing at the lake and local day trips to Mono Hots Springs or Thomas Edison Lake.

So do we roll in the trailers and pull out the blenders?

I would love to attend, however the price of gasoline is limiting my summer excursions. The mountains above Fresno are a bit far for me. (Besides, I'm an old guy and towing my trailer 500 miles roundtrip in the summer heat with my open CJ-7 isn't as much fun as it once was.)

If an event were held in Southern California (Miller Jeep Trail and South to San Diego and east to Big Bear, Warner Springs or Julian, you could count me in.
