Trailer RTT frame

I have a few question about putting a frame on my trailer for the RTT.

1) Is there an indusrty standard for size of frames?
2) Are there any Pro's and Con's with building one, compared to buying one?
3). Why does no one make a basket or roof racks for the Tacoma AC?
4) What type of metal should be used to fab one?

Craig, I am in the same boat. I have an M100 that I would like to mount my tent on as well. I want to take the tent off my truck so I can go away from camp. Good post. I hope to see some cool info.

I didn't want a cover on my M416 and to mount the RTT I added a 2x2 angle iron & a 2x2 sq on top of that to give a flat surface to mount the tops from a Yakima 1A tower, they can be found on Craigslist & Ebay for fair prices.
Then ran Yakima cross bars and mounted tent on them.
