New thread - I had some trauma trying to move my original thread, so I'm starting fresh.
I picked up this trailer off a classified site for $200, not a bad base for what I want to do.

Weapons Check - The whole bed tilts to make a ramp, this will sadly be deleted functionality to sure up the whole thing.:

I made this mock-up in photoshop before I started working. I scaled it to 1ft:1000px to be sure my stuff would fit.

I decided to go with a 1.25" square tube, 1/8" thick walls to keep weight down. I imagine it was a good balance of weight/strength, and should hold up fine. If I run into trouble I'm going to go with some 1/4" walled dom I can get bent at a shop down the road.

I started tacking stuff together:

Phase one is done. Added a jack to the neck, and the RTT box.

I got some adjustable stands to stabilize the whole rig... RTT goes on tonight, will post some pictures in action.

To come:

* Ammo boxes for dry storage
* fold down table
* water/fuel can holder
* more permanent jacks/stands
* kitchen

Cool idea. I like it.

One question though, is steel on your tongue bent by design? Might be a good idea either way to add some stiffeners.

Tongue was bent by the previous owner. It's getting ditched this weekend. Going for a slightly thicker walled tube. From what it looks like they had something nearly catastrophic happen when the dump bed was attached differently than it is now. I'm sure it's sound but I am going to replace it regardless.

Ran into some trouble with the RTT ladder while I was testing my stands out.

I put some gorilla glue on it until I can figure out a more permanent fix.

Mounted a table for my stove under the RTT. Cooking in the annex will be nice.

When I mentioned on another forum using the annex on my RTT for a kitchen, someone who had already done so, mentioned that this tends to make the tent smell like whatever you had been cooking. While I love bacon, I don't think I want my sleeping area smelling like it. Something to think about. It definitely ruined my plans for an easy set up slide out kitchen.
