Truck Bed Storage help

Ok guys and gals, I need some advise. I am currently trying to figure out how to build some truck bed storage for my 2000 Tundra. Before everyone jumps in and tells me to search, here is my issue. I need to build it so that it is weather proof, as there will be times when they will be exposed to all sorts of weather. I know how to work with wood, but I just don't like that idea. I'm afraid it will not seal. I know how to weld, but not sure how to get the drawers to seal.

Any ideas, suggestions and the like are welcome.

Thanks,
Josh

Weather stripping would seal the drawer end if you weld them. I put a tonneau on my 06 tundy and like the setup as it provides the weather proofing I need.

I built mine out of MDO, so it should be pretty weather resistant. I used epoxy from West Marine on all the joints to ensure a good bond and tight seal.

I've seen where people have used the stuff in a can to seal the seams for metal storage boxes. The liquid rubber in a can stuff or the truck bed armor stuff.

Hmm, all good sugestions. I will start looking into them. I am thinking I may just use the K.I.S.S. principle. A simple platform with some weather tight boxes under it.

Here is why I am looking for weather tight.

My new Softopper. :) I love it and it should work great for me. Plus since they are local to me I good to meet the owners and staff. Excellent people and very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend them.

Cheers,
Josh
