Hey Guys,
I've been a member of Expdition Portal for a while but never really post anything...

I own a 92 Toyota Pickup, which I rebuilt in high school. I use is for everything from hauling dirtbikes and climbing small rock trails to long highway trips monthly from Maine to PA. Last month we used is as our vehicle for a time speed distance rally in Vermont. TSD rallying is not only popular with rallying type cars, but also with overland vechiles and off-road style racing all over the world.

Fun stuff.

Congrats! My wife and I did the Covered Bridge Rally several times in the early 1990's in a 89 Dodge Raider.
After only 2 rallies we won a trapped novice rally in the truck.

Great times!

Obligatory check in. I participate in TSD and Navigational Monte Carlo Road Rallies. Fun stuff. Sometimes I wish I can drive more often, cause I'm the co-driver 98% of the time as most of my friends can't read route instructions and/or maps without getting nauseous while in a moving vehicle. The longest rally I've participated in was a 14 hr stint called the Midnight Run from Santa Barbara, CA to Las Vegas, NV. What a long night of driving!

What I really want to attempt next is the Alcan 5000.

Dodge Raider... nice, you don't see many of those around anymore. Yeah we didn't do very well in the morning, but by the afternoon stages I say we were close to zeroing a few!

Wow! That sounds like an awesome rally. If I can find something like that in the east I will be super excited! And I can understand the motion sickness.. haha! Yeah I hope to do the Alcan also! I told my co-driver two years ago that was my plan. Back then I drove a borrowed Chevy Astro van from Anchorage to Fairbanks... Then part of the dalton highway... then all of the Denali Highway... and then back to Anchorage! Fun trip. The van blew it's automatic transmisson in Healy :/ This was our first TSD... so we still got a lot of learning to do. But someday I'll go back to Alaska and race it!
