Tucson, AZ Monsoons

The Monsoon season has been pretty weak this year. But I did get out to chase two storms. One I was a little late to and ended up in the middle of it.

And one I was able to get in front of for a few good lightning shots.

Mt. Lemmon water runs down the rocks and over flows the storm drain and on to the road...

More will be coming as long as the storms pick up.

I was thinking that this year is better than any of the past 4 or 5 years.

It certainly started earlier than the past couple - and we've actually seen rain on the west side of the Tucson Mountains (we don't get much on that side).

I was going to say this. Rain almost every day, roads closed for downed trees and power lines, and rain before 4th of July. I've always been in the wrong direction for good pictures, but if it continues like it has, I'll be happy.

I remember more flooding and more rain last year. But maybe it was because I was chasing in a integra and any rain was too much.

So as some of us capture the Tucson monsoons do you want us to jump on this thread with you or just keep this your stream? Either way is cool with me. :sombrero:

No this was ment to get some Monsoon pics up from everyone. I didn't want to revive the 2 year old monsoon thread....

This year's Monsoon is dumping some water on us which is a good thing but so far, most of the lighting has been during the day. :-(

I'm waiting for the "Rim Shots" when storms roll down off the Rim and come into Tucson late at night for the good lightning opportunities.

At my house we have had at least 4 inches of rain this July. Way above average and my plants are loving it.

Today's rain was awesome.
