This is a month old - Bloomberg reported the US beef herd has been reduced in size to 1951 levels. The effect of the drought is blamed.

Good thing I went vegan (not by choice, but health reasons). Lucky the wife doesn't eat beef, and kids seldom do. Hope veggie prices remain stable

You might be feeling the pinch as well. A lot of fruit and veggies come from Calif. and the drought is hurting producers there.

Due to the drought out west expect fruits and vegetables to go up. Can't plant all their land because they can't get the water just like the drought has reduced the amour if grazing land.

Sadly, I believe you're both correct. Luckily, I eat a lot of local food (but tomatoes are from CA).
